If Only He Listened to Nancy Reagan

NYT, via Chrenkoff

And on Saturday, during a funeral for children who died in the bombing on Wednesday, a unit of the Iraqi police stopped a suspicious-looking man approaching the funeral procession and discovered that he was wearing a suicide vest filled with explosives and ball bearings, the American command reported Sunday.
An explosives team disarmed the man, a Libyan, and no one was hurt, according to the American military.
"The bomber was high on drugs and is being treated for the potential overdose," said Col. Joseph DiSalvo, an American commander. The bomber, he said, "came here to kill the grieving parents of the children who were killed on Wednesday."

Girl Power!

A tug-of-war, between the old & the new. Literally.

Britain Attacked - Again

Four small blasts aimed at the London transit system have been reported. Two men have been arrested (H/T La Shawn Baber). So far, only one causality has been reported. Let us pray that it remains this way.

The NYPD will be conducting random checks of backpacks at subway stations, which is wonderful news. However, this part of the policy boggles my mind:

People who do not submit to a search will be allowed to leave, but will not be permitted into the subway station.

Does this mean that the NYPD considers it acceptable to bomb places other than subways? A Starbucks would be packed in the morning, as would Katz's Deli during lunch. I can't see why a terrorist who wants to kill infidels & create fear & panic would not bomb these places. They have yet to show a preference any particular type of structure.

I understand that people have privacy concerns & are pressed for time, but with the world being what it is, unless you are engaged in something illegal, I can't think of why a reasonable person would object to a uniformed officer searching their bag.

And, in order to keep a flurry of law suites from the ACLU at bay:
The police commissioner said officers would take pains to avoid singling people out for searches based on race or ethnicity.
"No racial profiling will be allowed," Mr. Kelly said. "It's against our policies. But it will be a systematized approach."

God forbid we should be hit again, like London was, we should sue the ACLU & AI, just as the victims of the 9/11 families are suing the Saudi government. Those who protect terrorists, & give them the means to harm us, are complicit in their crimes.

I hope the British people will not allow their country to become the next Israel. Now is the time to act. We stand with you.

Let The Mud Slinging Commence!

The Kosmonauts have loaded their cannons & shooting all over the place hoping to hit something.

Here is a Daily Kos commenter speculating on the sexual orientation of the Judge Robert's son, Jack.
