Eric Rudolph: "I really prefer Nietzsche to the Bible"
Recently, Eric Rudolph, who bombed an abortion clinic as well as Olympic Park, was sentenced to life in prison. I would urge you to read the wonderful piece written by Jim condemning his murders.
According to a majority of the MSM (NYT) he is a devout Christian & the motivation for his crimes were Biblical. However, a closer look at the words & writings of the man reveal a very different story, namely, that his preference for Nietzsche over the Bible is indicative of his being an atheist rather than a Christian. An adherent of Nietzsche, who said, "God is dead", is one who espouses nihilism & opposes Christianity.
Here is a passage written by Eric Rudolph to his mother:
“Most of them have, of course, an agenda; mostly born-again Christians looking to save my soul. I suppose the assumption is made that because I’m in here I must be a ’sinner’ in need of salvation, and they would be glad to sell me a ticket to heaven, hawking this salvation like peanuts at a ballgame….I do appreciate their charity, but I could really do without the condescension. They have been so nice I would hate to break it to them that I really prefer Nietzsche to the Bible.”
Why is it that whenever a Muslim suicide bomber strikes the media gives plenty of airtime to CAIR & Imams who call the act 'unIslamic' & assure us that 'Islam is a religion of peace'? But when an atheist, who was once affiliated with a Christian group, commits murder, there is very little space devoted to the fact that Rudolph was a member of the Christian Identity sect for only six months, because, in his own words, the father of a woman he was dating at the time was a member.

islamic fundamentalism is just as evil as christian fundamentalism because the concepts of free thought and introspection are negated by default... the problem is that american politics is being dominated more and more by the religious right which sees their vested interests being threatened by alternative points of view... hence, not only by muslim extremism but also by islamic religion itself...
atheists aren't found to be important, because they reject certain principles but don't have the potential to undermind the current power base in the country at the moment... the media plays along and magnifies the distorted views until any arab or islamist is suspect by definition...

Thanks for the very kind ref.
I doubt that there is much difference in the collective mind of the BM between Islamofascists and devout Christians.
Bart, upon what basis do you claim that Christians, fundamentalist or otherwise, are 'evil'? Even if I agreed that fundamentalist Christianity negates 'concepts of free thought and introspection', this is not 'evil'.
I also would like to know what 'vested interests' Christians have that are threatened by 'alternative points of view'. If you consider Islamofascism merely an 'alternative point of view', then I'd have to say that you have a very different understanding of it than I do.
Finally, as much as I criticize the media, I don't see how one can blame the BM for unfairly smearing Muslims. If anything, they've bent over backwards to explain that Muslims have PLENTY of reason for animosity toward the United States, and also that Islam is a 'religion of peace'. Many Americans are mistrustful of Muslims because of those 19 assholes on the planes on 9-11 and their legions of fellow travelers who were responsible for the Beirut barracks bombing, the murder of Leon Klinghoffer, the WTC bombing, the Khobar Towers bombing, etc, etc, etc, as well as various videotaped beheadings.

One problem is that Liberals hate Christianity, it is an enemy that they like to humiliate at every opportunity. It'a all part of the white establishment, that they wish to alter. Islam is different, in that most of its adherents are not white. If it's not white it has to be good, so it isn't attacked with the same intensity. Liberals really have no idea what Islam is about.

The same could be said of the 9/11 hijackers. Mohammad Atta, for instance, ate pork, drank heavily and dated a stripper. None of those behaviours is in keeping with the Islamic faith.

As far as I am aware Kevin, those reports are inaccurate. Also, he was instructed by his cell to look unIslamic in order to carry out his mission. He did what he did under the orders of a religious leader & in the name of his religion. His will states that he wanted an Islamic burial. Also, he refused contact with female flight attendents according to the extremist Islamic faith.
Actually, those reports are accurate and are corroborated by witnesses and even by a paper trail in some cases. For instance, Atta bailed his stripper girlfriend, Amanda Keller, out of jail after she returned to an ex-boyfriend. She was jailed in the aftermath. I can send you a photo of the police report if you'd like.
