Inflation

Here is an extremely useful site. The inflation calculator allows you to see that when something cost one dollar in 1950, that is the equivalent of 7.75 in 2005 dollars. Helps to put certain stories & arguments in perspective.

Comments:
It should be that if you give a bank a dollar bill printed in 1950, the bank should have to give you back $7.75.

If only :)

endless number of these wonderful finds, what with the Internet being a vast network of constantly evolving ideas and all!

Where did you find it? Interesting read film editing schools

I truly believe that we have reached the point where technology has become one with our lives, and I am fairly certain that we have passed the point of no return in our relationship with technology.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Societal concerns aside... I just hope that as technology further develops, the possibility of downloading our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I daydream about almost every day.
